Easter

At Church of the Harvest we celebrate The Life, Death, and resurrection of Jesus on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday we have a picnic for the Children and the young at heart. We all have a blast. On Easter Morning, A true sense of awe saturates our hearts and minds as we partake of The Lord's Supper and  reflect on God's precious Gift to mankind. The Worship of Emmanuel continues with an Easter play. Many hearts are touched and quite often lives dedicated or rededicated to God.

The Easter Story

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

John 3:16-17 (NIV)

Mark 14:32-36 (NIV)
They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, "Sit here while I pray." [33] He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled. [34] "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death," he said to them. "Stay here and keep watch."
[35] Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him. [36] "Abba, Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will."

Mark 15:33-39 (KJV)
And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. [34] And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? [35] And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias. [36] And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down. [37] And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. [38] And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.
[39] And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.

Mark 16:1-6 (NLT)
The next evening, when the Sabbath ended, Mary Magdalene and Salome and Mary the mother of James went out and purchased burial spices to put on Jesus' body. [2] Very early on Sunday morning, just at sunrise, they came to the tomb. [3] On the way they were discussing who would roll the stone away from the entrance to the tomb. [4] But when they arrived, they looked up and saw that the stone—a very large one—had already been rolled aside. [5] So they entered the tomb, and there on the right sat a young man clothed in a white robe. The women were startled, [6] but the angel said, "Do not be so surprised. You are looking for Jesus, the Nazarene, who was crucified. He isn't here! He has been raised from the dead! Look, this is where they laid his body.
